"If some people had wings and others didn't, and the government wanted to enforce "fairness," soon no one would have wings. Because wings cannot be redistributed, they can only be broken. Likewise, a government edict cannot make people smarter or more capable, but it can impede the growth of those with the potential. Wouldn't it be fair if, in the name of equality, we scar the beautiful, cripple the athletes, lobotomize the scientists, blind the artists, and sever the hands of the musicians? Why not?" The plot of Harrison Bergeron...

But then the rest of us will have to act like imbeciles, otherwise it’s unfair to the politicians!

I ran a small business for several years and we were spending about $25 a customer to get the phone to ring but cussed the damn thing when it rang and invariably turned into a shouting match until in 1990 I read a article in a trade magazine by a guy with a auto transmission shop in NY who turned the light on for us. We attended his first seminar and 4 more after that and they were not cheap or close by. My son has his DVDs and held classes for his employees last month for 3 nights and one more this month.
The solution? Answer a question with a question...

I read this a couple of days ago and the reread was just as enjoyable. My loss of short term memory is making life truly shine.

I "retired" in 1993 but
Terry Greenhut continues to offer his tapes. He has had 3 heart attacks in the past 10 or 15 years but don't let that stop you...

Roll over towards the door. I’m in the bed next to you and now that I’ve got your attention, “Quit using my slippers when you go the the bathroom!”

Do you know why I offer to get your coffee in the morning? That’s right, you ole coot. Keep wearing my slippers and I’ll keep peeing in your coffee cup.
Are we going bowling tonight or did she say trolling?

Why werent there demonstrations with anti-feudal slogans under feudal rule? And under Stalin, no anti-communist demonstrations? And under Hitler, no anti-fascist demonstrations? In a free capitalist society, anti-capitalist demonstrations are commonplace. Is capitalism really the worst system? One of my subordinants was extremely liberal and spouted multiculturalism and praised moslems because "she knows some who are really nice people."
I asked her what would happen if she visited the Vatican. She immediately became very uncomfortable as I remarked she might take a tour and buy a T-Shirt. I followed up by asking her what would happen if she showed up in Mecca.
She nearly had a melt down.

Speaking with liberals is possible, but only with liberals who are in the middle 30%. Have you notices, when a conservative speaker visits (by invitation) a college or university, the lefties try to shout them down and drown them out?
Ideas outside their control terrify liberals.

LOL...so true. The intellectual equivalent of stuffing their index fingers in each ear. The youngest ones with the glazed eyes and the oldest, desiccated withered ones fifty and older are the absolute worst. (think...college students and hippie Code Pinkos...)
