Though already called a RINO by most conservative Republicans for running a write-in campaign when she lost in Alaska's Senate Primary earlier this year, Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska seems to not only be confirming her RINO status, but embracing it.
With lawsuits filed by Republican challenger Joe Miller about November's election being dismissed, Murkowski has won another six years in the Senate. Apparently, she does not care that she will be considered a traitor to her party. This is clear from her votes during the so-called "lame duck" session of Congress.
Going completely against the Republican grain, Murkowski has embraced Democratic President Barack Obama's agenda in its entirety. Obama, reeling from major Democratic defeats in last month's mid-term elections, pushed hard for a new agenda and movement. Murkowski clearly agrees.
Murkowski is the only Republican Senator who voted for each of the most visible bills that the President supported. She voted in favor of repealing the nearly two-decades old "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," which stated that members of the military would not be questioned about their sexual orientation; under it, gays were not allowed to serve openly in the military.

A woman scorned ... I hope the voters of Alaska enjoy her tantrum. Unfortunately it’s binding on the rest of us.
She’s a democrat now
Since she won as an independent, instead of as a Republican, will McConnell grow enough stones to strip her of her seniority and committee assignments? It’s not like she is the difference between the majority and minority, or that she is the difference between 40 and 41 votes to sustain a filibuster... Strip her of all advantages, and if she goes over to the Dems, good!
I don't recall. Or wait, maybe I do. Alaska allows for recall. 6 years is too long a wait to remove Moo-cowski. I think a recall is possible. Remember, she only won the seat with 33%. And this time, she would be opposed by only one candidate.
Actually I expect her to leave the GOP caucus; maybe Dem, more likely “Independent” a la Lieberman and Sanders, and get her committee assignment fro Reid. Ditto Snowe prior to being TEA Partied in the next primary.
US Senators are NOT subject to recall.
? I thought McCain came within a whisker of just that?
I must have missed it. Did Joe Miller’s challenge lose? Or is it still going on?
If you count her as a Republican, then every liberal bill will be bipartisan. But I don’t. She got elected without affiliation.
If she has an ACU rating of 40-50 over the next 6 years, we will be fortunate.
Just what Alaskans wanted, right?
MurCOWski was a RINO is the 11th congress,
but she ran and won as an Independent write-in,
so in the 112th congress, she had better be seated as an Indy.
She always was
She could not have won the write in, without their endorsement, and their assurance to Alaska that she was secure and that the primary voters would be forgiven for choosing Miller as the GOP candidate.
Bookmarked that thread for future reference.
She’s not a kow, she’s a PIG.
