Gotta agree with Jazz Shaw here, this kind of whining by the left about the "inhumane" prison treatment of the treasonous Manning is beyond idiotic, it's embarrassing. Jazz Shaw spent some with the Military Police while he was in the military, I spent 6 years working the county jails of Los Angeles. We talk from experience:
And Im here to tell you that some of these self-styled human rights experts and legal analysts have probably been smoking something which the authorities would also frown upon.
What are these "inhumane" conditions for this POS?
At 5:00 a.m. he is woken up (on weekends, he is allowed to sleep until 7:00 a.m.). Under the rules for the confinement facility, he is not allowed to sleep at anytime between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. If he attempts to sleep during those hours, he will be made to sit up or stand by the guards. He is allowed to watch television during the day. The television stations are limited to the basic local stations. His access to the television ranges from 1 to 3 hours on weekdays to 3 to 6 hours on weekends. He cannot see other inmates from his cell. He can occasionally hear other inmates talk. Due to being a pretrial confinement facility, inmates rarely stay at the facility for any length of time. [But Manning has been held there, in Maximum Custody, and in total solitary confinement except for one hour a day, for five months without trial. And for the two months prior to arriving at Quantico, he was held in Kuwait under similar conditions.] Currently, there are no other inmates near his cell.
From 7:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m., he is given correspondence time. He is given access to a pen and paper. He is allowed to write letters to family, friends, and his attorneys.
Each night, during his correspondence time, he is allowed to take a 15 to 20 minute shower.
[snip]
It goes on and on. The horror of only being allowed one hour outside of his cell, the horror of being allowed only one book at a time to read, oh the horror.
Listen, those put on suicide watch in civilian jails are given the same treatment. Those in maximum confinement are given much the same treatment. I mean come on! Only being allowed to watch TV during the day? Only one shower a day? I recall those receiving confinement during my years in the Marine Corps receiving much harsher treatment then this and they sure were not allowed to watch TV for hours on end.
Some liberal idiots are even calling this torture!

Saying what I think should be done with him would likely get me banned. Suffice to say it would be quick and wouldn’t cost much.
Civilian penitentiaries should be run the same way. It’s outrageous what felons in those places are allowed to get away with. The inmates are running these facilities.
Put him out in the general population this will make the Libs happy.
We won’t need to have a trial, as he will be beaten to death in short order.
Progressives are always victims...no matter what they are caught doing. And after they are caught, they expect to get probation...no matter what their crime. For example, Rangel cheated on income taxes to the tune of $75,000, but it wasn’t really his fault. At first, he blame his wife and then claimed it was all a big mistake. Our biggest mistake was letting him and other members of Congress (in both parties by the way) become lifetime members of Congress.
But he is not allowed to... exercise... and is been forced to take anti-depressants.
And, The guards are required to check on PFC Manning every five minutes by asking him if he is okay. PFC Manning is required to respond in some affirmative manner. At night, if the guards cannot see PFC Manning clearly, because he has a blanket over his head or is curled up towards the wall, they will wake him in order to ensure he is okay.
Get that? Every five minutes he has to respond, and every five minutes he is awakened to respond. For the comprehension impaired, that means he never gets more than five minutes of sleep at a time - for five months straight now.
LOL, no he's not being tortured. In the name of "safety," he's being outright brain-wiped.
And for all of y'all who think isolation is no biggy, you might want to write to some military interrogation units and tell them to stop wasting their time with such useless techniques.
And contact some Vietnam Vet former-POWs and tell them to get over their whining about the effects of the isolation they experienced. Not the beatings and starvings - the isolation.
Don't worry, PFC Bradley Manning is going to be given full opportunity to testify for his defense, and name all of the people above his lowliest of grades who transferred to him, enabled him, or looked the other way, while he released the top secret ambassadorial cables he otherwise would never have even remotely been able to touch.
Yep, he's going to name every one of them. Except... by the time it's time for him to remember... he's not going to have a mind, or a will, left to do the job.
Guaranteed.
Torture! The next time Obama goes to Europe, they ought to arrest him, take him to the Hague and put him on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The poor babies. They want to play in the adult world but they don’t want to be treated like adults when they screw up. **** ‘em!
Even more than civilian law, the UCMJ presumes innocence. Let’s hold off on the lynch-mob enthusiasm.
If it were up to me he would be buried in the nearest dump.
In fact he would have been buried there ong ago.
Maybe Bradass Manning can petition for transfer to one of those jails in Alaska or Florida where they really are hotels with full cable tv and sometimes an authentic seaman's platter.
Manning will be wearing a BOHICA jersy in Levenworth..
He’s probably enjoying the, uh, “relationship” culture that prison affords its residents.
If he gets stood against a wall and shot as the traitor he is I’ll bet they will really be bitchin then.......
3 squares and all the **** he can ****
But repealing “don’t ask don’t tell” will prevent all this in the future right?
Stop it. I can’t hear another word about the misery that poor man is in. No cable? That is outrageous!!
