Two probably liberal, naive, American women go walking alone in the desert in a country where Arabs are known to inhabit. Do they ever question if it is safe to go? Let the Israeli police investigate this crime, before drawing any conclusions. Their spokesman says that the exact nature of events is still to be determined. The existing witness statements have some flaws and points of immprobability. No description of the two attackers has been circulated.
