public workers, using tax money to lobby for more government funds... what could go wrong?

Saying that public workers should not be allowed to have a meaningful voice in their workplaceoften through their Unionsis basically telling these workers that their opinions and suggestions have no merit...
I've worked both union and non union and I've found the union to be more of a hindrance than anything.
In a union shop you take your ideas to a union steward who files your ideas away in the trash rather than work toward increased efficiency.
In non union shops I've been able to take my ideas directly to the boss. And if they work he considers me for a raise or job advancement based on merit.
