Yes its a browser hacker expliot. Only program that fixes it is Tdsskiller by kaspersky.

It’s very convincing and it really does look like a message from Microsoft.

That happened to me yesterday but my own security had just scanned my computer and found no threats so I deleted what would have been a big problem.

It looked just like a Windows security alert...but it isn't! Tells you that you have all kinds of "threats" to crash your computer.

Bill, you are a life saver. After running AVG,Spybot, and MWB all weekend, I tried the Tdsskiller. Whole process took 5 minutes and the problem is gone!! (The problem I had was my browser was hijacked by “brawser-check”.com)

The virus is root virus/ expliot. It re writes itself. Hjack this wont fix it. How to tell if you been infected other then the browser redirect/ hang to Brawsing check. Your windows update site won’t work. Along with slow hang on load up etc.Constant hard drive working noise, Add and remove programs not listing programs etc. It’s a nasty one :)
