The documents were classified. If a PFC of his own authority, like a vigilante, can disobey the law and his orders and decide what government secrets to release while being defended by a US Congressman, then we’re in very serious trouble. Ron Paul proved again he’s a loon.
Big bump to the top.
Remember Larry Wu-Tai Chin (金無怠)? He stole even more material than Manning, and wasn't detected for 30 years. He was probably the sloppiest successful spy in history, and the brainiacs at the CIA even gave him an intelligence medal (ironically, around the same time Red China secretly gave him one also.)
thank you for making that point.
If freepers can't be bothered to read the details, we're in very serious trouble.
And Ron Paul does have a good point - if we aren't going to punish the US citizens at the NY Slimes for treason, why go after Assange for espionage? Equal protection is part of the law around here.
OH, excuse me. Isn’t that special. Assange is exactly the type of fellow I’d expect Ruin Paul to defend as well as Manning. Thanks for your insight.
Profound statement.
While I'm certainly not a Paulite, I do believe that truth withheld leads to slavery.
If we are a people who embrace truth for what it is...freeing...then how can we find fault with the publishing of truth?
Having said that, I do believe that those leaks that include a diplomat's opinion of another diplomat is more gossip than the exposing of lies.
“I thought only citizens of a particular nation could only be charged with treason against that nation...
Assange could be caught by us and charged with espionage but not treason”
Read it again, real slow this time. I didn’t say anything about charging Assange with treason. He should be shot on sight though
Oh I know you weren’t saying anything about charging Assange with treason, I was responding more to what the article was saying and making the mistake that writing is not different from spoken conversation. As in....say we are in a group talking about this article...I’m listening to your comment then I chime in saying....”I thought only a citizen of a nation could be charged with treason....
My criticism was with how the article seem to suggest that the U.S. could arrest Assange for treason.
Yeah as for Assange, I agree with you...shoot on sight. Perhaps the bullet can go thru him and it would take out Soros at the same time!
>>The gay private DID US A FAVOR by demonstrating our utter lack of classified material security.<<
I have questioned for years if our security system was set up to keep Americans of foreigners from peeking. It certainly isn’t as effective as we are led to believe it is.
