I “should” sign out for the night, -— your comments have put me in such a wonderful, happy mood! Did you or do you wirte professionally? You’re excellent!
I'd made my mind up about O'Bigears before the election, but fell short in estimating how destructive he could be to MY country. What I see now and what I now know scares the crap out of me!
What I love about Sarah is her common sense- the essence of conservatism if ever there was one. She sees things as they are, not a fanciful reality that dominates the liberal worldview. It's like she holds a flapping salmon in the face of phony liberals and Rinos and tail-slaps them silly.
These next two years will be excrutiatingly slow to watch as this mal-administration does it's best to destroy the last best hope for mankind who, only wants a fair shake in contest between himself and his government.
I don't understand why, at this date, several states haven't already drawn-up papers to secede from what has become the most intolerable and over-reaching central government imaginable? Under the Clown in chief whatever existed of state soveriegnty has since been destroyed. ("Eat my HealthCare, Eat my High Speed Rail!") Hey, eat me buddy!
More than half the people in my state (CA) are f***ing morons. How long must sane people be expected to live among them? To pay their bills? Same goes for the Fed- how long should a sane state remain in Union with a greedy, dirty, unconstitutional power exerting it's will either by Rat0crat or, to some extent, Republican decree?
We've been called every name in the book: radical, extremist, bigot, racist, bitter clingers, etc., but never what we truly are and that's Patriots! We share this experience with Sarah who has endured the same insults and smears.
If there were only one reason why I choose to stand with her it would be to let others know that as a Patriot I see the fight that's brewing and have taken sides. I understand just how much ass-kicking is going to have to happen to get America back on track and pull us away from the totalitarianism that lies ahead. It's not about compromise anymore, no more 'hand across the aisle' crap. A right to the mid-section is more like it. I call dibs on the soon-to-be-Mayor of Chicago ballerina.
A few thoughts I had about Sarah when reading were that she is a bit green, no doubt....and she is a HUGE risk taker, and could be politically reckless at times. Sort of a gambling type.
She can also be very empathetic and kind...but ruthless too. She has a certain hardness that most women do not have, and she is a beautiful tom-boy who is very comfortable and confident with men. I worry only about her children, and wonder how a mother of 5 could do it, because I could never serve two masters (job&kids), and I only had three. (I am a worry-wart..awful!)
She probably in her heart of hearts is independent politically....remember AIP? Most importantly of all tho, she works extremely hard, is brave, strong, and I also think her policy decisions will largely be on target, and very good for this country. I do not think she could in any way whatsoever damage us.
I can't even manage a guess on if she will run, if she can win the primary, or the Presidency.
Because I do not even understand or know the people of this country anymore. And it seems that even FR’s members are becoming more foreign each day. Always handwringing about what the media will say.
And the GOP?
Don't get me started.
Ok, rant off!
Good Post.
Both pro and con cultists have a visceral reaction to the person. You saw it with Obama. His positions and personal history were laughable. Nothing. Empty suit and voting “Present” yet he was elected. He had, as does Sarah Palin, the ability to create that visceral reaction. There is one tremendous difference however. His was based, truly, on simple illusion; hope and mirrors.
Sarah Palin inspires a nearly equal amount of adoration and disdain, as did Obama but she adds something Obama lacked; true admirers and a real center that is undeniable.
She is, in fact, the anti-Obama. That is why she scares people.
Some are blind to her flaws because they search for even more proof of her character being genuine. And finding such a pearl thrown before the usual swine in politics is so hard to believe that it drives a powerful need to destroy or protect her; to allow the hope that she is genuine in, without either constant validation or constant affirmation, would be difficult to do.
It’s sad, really. The real blessing she has been given is that she has the qualities that attracted the swing vote and is the personification of the movement we saw in 2010.
The middle American, the grass roots sees neither perfection or total disaster; the woman who lives the way she wants to and says the things that she believes at the moment; who reflects back to them what they want.
I personally couldn’t ask for more. And her stances are her stances, but she will not morph into a beltway insider. I know that and that is what we need right now.
I know that. And so does the vast majority of people who are attracted to her. You can’t name anyone else in the field about whom that can be said. It really is this simple.
I might be full of shit. There are certainly a few folks here who think so. But I don’t care about that. I’m working all of this through just like the rest of us, but I have come to the conclusion that she has one thing and one thing only that I haven’t found anywhere else. I trust that she is no way going to become another beltway insider. It’s not in her character. And who do you have that you can say that about with absolute surety? Anyone?

Such a refreshing thread. “;^)
Great article!
Thanks for the ping! What a nice surprise this morning. :)
What a great, great, positive thread!
A good friend of mine was able to get to Sarah’s book signing here in Iowa yesterday. (I live about an hour from Spirit Lake)
I so wished I could have went. Sounds like about 1000 people were there in a town of 5000 (obviously many came from surrounding communities)
But I was just thinking...who among the listed potential candidates could draw a thousand people on a Thursday morning in Spirit Lake Iowa to wait in line for hours for just a book signing.
The answer is none of them. Pence and Barbour and DeMint may all be great conservatives in their own way, but Sarah transcends them in a way I don’t think people begin to appreciate.
If she wants it she will win the nomination in a cakewalk, and the White House in a landslide.
Truer words are rarely posted! I've found peace, because I've adopted Sarah and Rush's attitude and belief: I don't give a rip what the media says and I know the media will rip every Republican, so the "concerns" about a too damaged Sarah don't mean anything to me. If she's not our nominee, the nominee will be torn to shreds and I don't see anyone out there with the fire-in-the-belly necessary to fight back. I do see nice guys and nice guys almost always finish last.
Hi b9! Yes, refreshing! That’s the word.
Here's the thread, which includes photos and a CNN interview.
Yes, refreshing, as b9 put it!
