South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint (R) is turning his attention to 2012 and using the vote this week on an earmark moratorium to pick his Democratic targets.
DeMint sent an email to the supporters of his Senate Conservatives Fund early Wednesday highlighting four Democrats who voted against the earmark ban, are up for re-election in 2012 and sit in states that John McCain (R) carried in 2008: Sens. Jon Tester (Mont.), Ben Nelson (Neb.), Kent Conrad (N.D.) and Joe Manchin (W.Va.).
In the email, DeMint called for unseating Tester, Nelson, Conrad and Manchin.
"These senators are nice folks but they have ignored the will of the American people and they must be replaced with principled conservatives in 2012," he said. "That's where the Senate Conservatives Fund comes in and it's where you can help. We've already begun the process of building campaigns against these other liberals in the Senate who are driving our nation deeper and deeper into debt."
DeMint went on to ask for money -- stating that his fund will need "at least $4 million" to win the four races.
NO REST FOR THE WICKED!
DeMint ping, please!
“These senators are nice folks...”

Love ya Jim, but stop it, just stop it.
The future of our country is hanging in the balance. This is no time for niceties. These people are the enemy.
This guy is the greatest. I wish he’d set his sights on a Higher Office.
No Claire McCaskill?
I admire DeMint more with each passing day. I hope he’s pro-Palin.
Hopefully he will run, although I remember him saying something about “too many dogs in the yard already”?
He seems to be our best hope.
Money for the Senate Conservatives Fund is on the way!
Do you know the above mentioned personally? Jim does. John McCain is a pretty nice guy but politically he stinks. just saying
Not yet.... she voted properly regarding the earmarks.
DeMint has to be a little more circumspect about RINOs, of course, but he needs to be setting his sights on a few old bulls in the GOP as well.
That is normal Senatorial collegial speech.
Like McCain’s “My Friend”...and it’s one reason why Senators tend to make lousy Presidents.
They have too much of that bred into them the longer they are there.
Senators = compromiser’s...the “cooling saucer” designed to slow down legislation from the heated House debates.
I love Jim DeMint and he’s not as bad as most...
Jim...communists aren’t not ‘nice folks’...
They all say that or stuff like that... “my friend across the aisle” etc.
They have to. DeMint and other good conservatives have to work in the same Senate chamber with those demonicrats.
Sorry about Palin to you fans. She is not qualified. She would be a great VP. She is not Pres material. Yes, she makes Zero look bad. We cannot afford anymore experiments with this economy. We need a hard core businessman.
“Do you know the above mentioned personally?”

Hardly the point. Kicking their asses out of Congress has NOTHING to do with any positive personality attributes.
Gratuitous niceties smack of the same old aisle-crossing appeasement. DeMint has been a stalwart, but I don’t like the soft-pedaled buddy approach.
They praise one another.
She must have voted against it. She will be seeking “independence” from democrats the next two years.
