While teaming with host Perry Stone at Milwaukee's WQFM, Rhodes was suspended in 1987 when their program offended the gay community and led several businesses to cancel ads.
Air America host Randi Rhodes wasn't mugged,
NYDailyNews.com reported
Air America Radio host Randi Rhodes is temporarily off the air, but cops and her lawyer say reports she was mugged near her Manhattan apartment were bogus.
A police source said Rhodes never filed a report and never claimed to be the victim of a mugging.
Rhodes' lawyer Robert Gaulin told the Daily News she was injured in a fall while walking her dog, but she wasn't sure exactly what happened.
"She did get injured. She's in pain and is recovering and looks forward to being back on the air Thursday," he said.
Rhodes appeared to have a cut lip when she was ushered to a car in front of her ritzy Park Ave. building Tuesday. She did not answer a reporter's questions.
She looks a little on the Cro-Magnon, side doesn’t she.
