My brother in law opted to drive to our town for Thanksgiving instead of flying like he usually does because of all this airport crap.
I think that'll work for a while, but in the long run, if we don't get the groping and scanning stopped, it will be on streetcorners and roadsides.
Of course, once people start digging through your stuff, excuses will abound for stealing anything of value, either through stealth or even right in front of you.
The threat of arrest and detention will be used to squelch protest (especially if the 'random' shakedowns target vehicles with out-of-state plates). It will be the classic small-town speed trap gone amok.
