The most recent vote in Iraq actually had secularist and anti-Iranian Allawi’s party captured the largest block of seats. Al Sadr’s party got less than 6%. And it was al-Maliki that cleaned out Basra and Sadr City of Iranian “special groups” and their allies, the Mahdi Army.
