I don’t live where you would expect.
My manufacturing company is in the city, so I live in a small condo complex. My neighbors include Lebanese, Chinese, Latinos, African Americans, gays, and...oh yeah, a couple of anglos.
I have talked to all of them about the need to prepare and stick together in the event of a disaster. There was excellent sharing and cooperation in the afermath of Hurrican Ike.
If there is a diasaster I will extend the organization to include the block and then the neighborhood. If there is looting and such we will organize to defend the area.

for starters,
you might do well to plan to exit your group to a safer more rural area.
