Yah. I know. As long as you can hurt, you can love. Animals bring out the love, and therefore, the hurt.

I dont think he liked the injections but it wasnt as difficult as I would have imagined. It's easier to give cats injections than it is to get them to take pills. We once had a cat who needed to take pills, and it didn't matter what we used to try to camouflage the pill, that cat would wind up spitting out the pill. Eventually we had to force them down the cat's throat, making one very unhappy kitty.

Here is Bowie. He is a two year old at least part Maine Coon cat. He weighs 22 pounds.

You can't see it but his left eye is blue and his right is yellow. His right ear was stunted by a hemangioma

Awwww. It seems I can see the yellow eye, or is that the flash doing it? He’s a big guy, and very beautiful. What’s his personality like?

I tried giving a pill to one of my cats. It was like something out of a cartoon - I gave her the pill and right away she spit it across the floor. There’s nothing like a determined cat. :)

To: mlizzy; Eye of Unk
Eye of Unk came up with a very good description of Bowie: "a purring pillow with paws". He isn't much of a lap cat, mostly because of his size. He just doesn't fit most laps. That is a good thing. I fell asleep in my recliner and awoke some hours later with him sleeping across my legs and my legs were asleep, too. He does like to be close to people and loves to be pet rather roughly, more like a dog.
That is is yellow eye and I think the color is more from that than the flash.
We also have two kittens we aquired shortly before Bowie. When we got the big guy, we weren't too sure it would work out. There was bad chemistry especially between him and our polydactl. They were recently seen sleeping together.
Our third cat, the other kitten, is another Maine coon cat similarly colored to Bowie. From my brief and limited association with Maine coon cats, I am under the impression that they are very loving but not the sharpest tools in the shed. OTOH, I think the polydactl is plotting an insurrection.

Cute. I had to look up polydactl. I was unfamiliar with them. They were selling them for $200 on the site I found.
We have three cats, two blacks and a grey, plus two dogs. Oh, and a water turtle. What would life be without our pets? I can't even imagine it.

If you (or anyone else) is interested in getting a polydactl, check out your local cat rescue organization. They don't charge a premium. That is where Bowie and the kittens came from.
Because of his eyes, gimpy ear and great size, Bowie was hard to place and getting close to the end of his rope. My wife volunteered her time, and the next thing I know, she had brought her work home with her.

She only had a mild case but still destroyed her immune system. She get a scratch from a rose bush on her back leg and it got infected-as a result a cyst ocurred and she licked it to clean it and apperrently ingested the infection
and after that she had kidney and liver failure.I had to sadly have her euthanased because she was suffering. It was heart rending to see her passing blood.

I thought you might be interested in an update on our cat. My daughter did some research and we now believe he is part Ragdoll rather than Maine Coon Cat. Ragdolls are also very large and very affectionet, which is Bowie to a “t”.

Oh, thanks for the update! It's not always easy defining a breed. We have a mixed breed dog that we now believe is part border collie, because she is so agile and intelligent, so Bowie being very large and very affectionate might be the best indicator that he is part Ragdoll (what a great breed name!).
Video of Addy, our border collie mix.

Addy is agile. He reminds me of a dog we had when I was a boy. Sam was pretty bright (he taught himself to play fetch with himself by dropping a ball down the stairs and then running down the stairs to catch it) but he was not nearly that quick.

You may want to rethink that. Imagine him getting bored a 3:00am and... thump...thump...THUMP...THUMP...
