Sarah is an outspoken Evangelical Christian herself. She does a better job of appealing to that demographic than Huck because she walks the walk and not just talks the talk. For that matter she appeals to the Mormon demographic better than Mitt and for the same reason.

As for getting more than 10% or 12% of the black demographic, it ain't going to happen even if she picks a conservative black. Just look at the plantation mentality view of well-qualified conservative blacks like Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams and Herman Cain, just to throw out four examples.

Perhaps selecting the appropriate "Latino" VP candidate can overcome the automatic 10%-12% advantage that Obummer gets out of the gate. Actually, I really hate that this is even a campaign strategy, in that I wish we could get rid of all the stupid -American idiocy.

I REALLY need you to explain that one. I'm pretty aware of the views of Sowell, Thomas and Williams - no so much of Cain - and I know of no "plantation mentality" in them. In fact, I find this statement pretty appalling, given the extensive service those individuals have given the country and our movement at great personal cost.
