Both Bushes gave us clinton and obama- they’ve done enough damage to America. Let them fade into the woodwork.

Having read a bit more of the transcript, that is not exactly what Papa Bush said about the tea party.

You are right, it makes me sick how W has not said a word in his defense. Look Obama would be on the airwaves every minute saying

This is ridiculous. I agree GHWB was a weak president, but there is no way you can say GWB was at all! You say he was weak because he didn’t fight back against those who attacked him, well just that in of itself is strength. Knowing the time and place to pick a fight and choosing your battles wisely will serve you well in the future and he knew that, why do you think he was elected for a second term. As another point, George W. was extremely strong willed and stuck to his convictions and did as he said he would. He may not have always had the most elequent way of putting things, but he definitely got his point accross. He made decisions that most definitely weren’t popular with Congress or the general public but that is what he and his advisors felt was what needed to be done and he saw to it that they were. I’m sorry to be so crude but he has balls. He was able to make the least popular decision for the best interest of our country and was able to manipulate the system in order to make sure his decisions were carried out. Now, it may not have been him calling the shots, we’ll never know for sure, but regardless he had the gumption to follow through. This is what really aggravates me about the Republican Party followers. Just because Barbara Bush spoke out against Palin saying she needed to stay out of the presidential campaign does not make her ignorant. It actually makes her informed because Sarah Palin is not educated as far as how government works. She has never been a legislator nor does she know what it takes to run a country in need of a strong leader. It is people who follow her that make me embarrassed to be a Republican anymore. They are blind followers who vote straight down the ticket without accounting for the reprecussions of helping elect an inadequate candidate. You need to know your candidates, not just close your eyes and hope it all works out. That’s why we’re in the mess we’re in.
