I see an image of Islamic terrorists watching the last batman movie where the Joker sends a guy to jail with a bomb and a cellphone sewn into his body.
Those Moslems tend to to adhere to imaged icons. Its a workable strategy that TSA probably has been instructed to be on the lookout for.
What we don’t hear is what has been the internet “chatter” lately, I suspect there was a lot of discussions going on about Moslems looking for doctors and to how well they could surgically implant an IED.
So its a big deal right now traveling by air, it would be a MUCH bigger deal if on or around Thanksgiving Day that a whole heck of a lot of “body bombs” started exploding on aircraft.
I am NOT blaming TSA, if anything I give a stern eye to the whiners and complainers trying to make a big deal about it and stopping TSA in its tracks.
Bottom line is this, we are at war and people just cannot think war will affect them here in America, and they bitch when people who can face it interfere with their lives.
We all should show some restraint and some more common sense about this, and address the roots of this problem, which if a person cannot see it they are well and truly an idiot of modern society.

What is TSA doing that would find an internal bomb? Possibly the scanners, but if you refuse them all this patting down won’t.

Modernity does not necessitate violation of personhood or legal rights. TSA rules are based on ignorance and stupidity, not intelligence and understanding.
Looking for bombs under every pair of underwear is ignorant and stupid. Looking for bombers is intelligent.

You underestimate the extreme difficulty in recruiting and supporting, and in the logistics of a suicide terror bomber. They are VERY VERY RARE. In addition the bomber, once one can be found and convinced to carry it off, is under amazing psychological stress, they are always easily identified. An average terror bomber support network runs around 40 persons, meaning the chance of discovery is high.
Because of a idiot’s movie (not idiotic as movie — it was great as a movie, but idiotic as even a passing rendition of real life) you seem to believe that major surgery used on one of these volunteers would be la de dah easy peasy. It is not, it borders on being almost impossible. Impossible at the a level of having meteorite drop through someone’s bedroom ceiling while they are abed.
These backscatter x-ray screenings used on all are ridiculous. They are unlikely to work, and along with the obscene images and sexual assault pat downs they do debase the culture into a submissive state incompatible with being a good citizen, a state that will engender helplessness and defeat.

screen for the bomber...not the bomb. The Israelis have had 50 years of success doing exactly that. There is absolutely no sound reason why we cannot do the same here...
Yes, because what you're talking about is just "fighting the last war." First of all, an occasional airliner already crashes or blows up for mechanical / weather / pilot error reasons -- it's frankly not that big of a trade-off, for the convenience & speed of airline travel, if there's also a Lockerbie-type event every several years. Bad things happen sometimes. Drunk drivers kill many times more people than terrorists every year, but we tolerate it.
But more importantly, anybody who is able to recruit suicide bombers would be stupid to waste them on plane attacks right now. If terrorists are willing to die for their cause, then there are much more 'terrorizing' attacks that could be made than bringing down a plane. If I wanted to strike fear into Americans and throw the nation into upheaval, I wouldn't use planes at all. I'd have my suicide operatives hijack a few fuel tanker trucks full of gasoline at truck stops -- essentially no security at all; just kill the driver and keep his body in the cab -- fit them with cheap bombs to ignite and spread the fuel, and then have them driven at maximum speed into elementary schools and day cares full of kids. Or do the same with ANFO like Tim McVeigh. It would not be hard at all to coordinate three or four such attacks all in the same afternoon in different suburban communities across the country. The sort of people who seized the Beslan school in Russia would not have any qualms about doing this sort of thing.
Does anyone disagree that this would be a MUCH bigger and more effective attack than anything that could be realistically done with a jetliner, even if a couple of the trucks were intercepted? And yet we don't have bureaucrats fondling truckers at weigh stations, and we don't have soldiers with RPGs guarding day cares. Why? Because it would be a stupid and ineffective approach at prevention. Just like what goes on at airports.
