Building a Conservative Majority Starts at Home

If conservatives intend to translate Tea Party enthusiasm into actual power they are certainly going to have begin to put like-minded folks into office and not just at the federal level. Every office from dogcatcher, to city offices, to county and state offices needs to be filled with Tea Party advocates. Conservatives cannot expect an enduring governing capability by focusing solely on federal elections.

To that end, this week American Majority (AmericanMajority.org/) unveiled a new free of charge initiative to help train Tea Party groups to groom local candidates in order to build a more enduring conservative governing majority across the country. The project is called the New Leaders Project.

AM hopes to help local Tea Party groups to identify 10 new leaders in their local community to run for state or local office. "The program will help community leaders identify quality candidates while fostering a new era of accountability between voters and elected officials," said representatives for the group...

The Tea Party movement has shown that it has real power. Now it is time for these groups to train themselves for the future.

Um...why not just post the whole article here at FR instead of needlessly excerpting for blog hits?

*waits for answer*

Some folks need training on posting the whole content.

Roger that!

Please DO NOT misunderstand my reasons for producing these two videos. If folks want to gather together to let “them” know that “we,” like Howard Beal in “Network” are “…mad as hell and not going to take it any more…,” it’s STILL – for the time being anyway – a relatively free country so we can do that.

All I’m saying here is that, especially in tough economic times, there are more EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE ways to expend our FINITE RESOURCES.

It’s not as much fun as sweating on the Mall but there IS a better – and less costly — way to scare hell out of “them” — and you won’t even have to leave home.

"Um, why not give good conservative blogs their hits?"

You mean, of course, good conservative blogs like JeffHead.com? Sites that not only post full content, but contribute heavily, both in linkbacks, synergy and hard cash contributions to FreeRepublic? Of course. No problem>

But if you're talking about arrogant parasites who use FreeRepublic as an advertising platform to shill for their own self interest, and see FReepers as nothing but numbers on their hit counter, well then ... forget it.

I worry that this constant carping about bloggers posting full articles is going to get FR in trouble. All articles should be excerpted to avoid legal troubles. AND if I were a blogger or the owner of online content I would not want to waive my right to assert copyright violations. You establish a pattern or practice and it sticks to you and can bite you in the fanny. Best to excerpt ALL content. By complaining you’ll end up encouraging some knucklehead to post full articles that aren’t theirs to post at all.

All articles should be excerpted to avoid legal troubles.

Some dirty blogger sits down and writes up a reworded story on his blog
about some real news he saw on the web and then he should excerpt it here?

Why not just write it here and call it a vanity?

These bloggers are excerpting in order to get blog hits, nothing more.

They wrote the poorly composed and ill-researched crap, they can bloody well post it here.

Problem is that blogs get sold; there is a lawyer buying up media rights just so he can sue on them. Best to excerpt everything. I’m worried the FR equivalent of old biddies complaining about this will get FR in trouble legally if they are paid attention to.
