The trailer looks terrific. What un-civil war in suburbia might look like.

Reminds me of Fireproof. Great story and a gallant effort by amateurs, but still has that amateur look.
I mean, we own all the movies by the Fireproof people, and enjoy them, but I see the movies for what they are, technically.
I’d still like to see this if it ever comes out.

Looks good! A common discussion point with my neighbors. I just hope it doesn’t devolve into a lame religious-themed movie like “2012 Doomsday.”

This sounds almost exactly like the online novel “Lights Out” by HalfFast on the AR15 group. I hope he made some money off this. Excalibur = Silver Hills, Art=”Karate Man” Turner, Morris=John, out of town thugs = Davis ranch, gamma ray star = EMP nukes.

Looks great to me! Thanks for posting the link!
The NC State University cap on the woman in the control room piqued my interest so I was watching closely for NC-related things. Then I saw the sign for Trawick Road, which is about an hour from me in Raleigh, NC.
I looked at the homepage of the site after seeing the trailer. This is being filmed in Raleigh and I had not even heard about it!
I can’t wait to see this. Thanks again!

Authorities describe recent cosmic activity from a type of super-dense star that has released a burst of gamma rays. This massive electromagnetic storm is heading toward Earth... Well, that's where it falls flat on its face, isn't it? You cannot know about "a burst of gamma rays" until it's actually here (i.e., no warning). That's the nature of electromagnetic radiation and what allows us to look into the past by looking at galaxies far, far away...

Thanks for the ping!
I found this thread, and a poster claiming to be the writer of Remnants says that the movie is intended to be a metaphor for what is happening in America today. About how the people who produce and invent have the results of their success taken from them by force.

There are sure a lot of Morris’s out there to be wary of...

Based on what I saw at the site, this looks like this was produced using the Canon 5D digital SLR and the Adobe editing/post tools. Things have come so far in that realm that fantastic looking motion pictures can be produced with those tools for a fraction of the costs associated with film. I hope it does well. The story looks interesting.

After that last little go around with Morris, we would have taken a quiet walk in the woods together. He was being way too merciful to someone he knew would betray him.
