Fox News pays Sarah Palin as a contributor to their network. And apparently to be fair and balanced, they also pay Judith Miller and Liz Trotta to make fun of Sarah Palin:
UPDATE: Heres what was said:
LIZ TROTTA: Alessandra Stanley [of the New York Times] had the best line [in her Nov. 11 review]. She said the new [Palin TLC] show was like The Sound of Music without the Nazis, without the romance and without the music.
JUDITH MILLER (laughing): Oh, the Washington Post hated it, too . . . [Post TV critic Hank Steuver] said [Palin has] the kind of sound of a voice when warning you to heed the bears it would actually scare the bears. . . . He said you just get the sense that all shes waiting for when shes looking at this great outdoors is to get back to her SUV for enough bars to send out her latest twitter about the beauty of the environment.
OK, thats what was said during the commercial break. Heres what was said when the show came back on the air:
SCOTT: She has gotten a lot of heat for that new show. Some lefty groups, Ellis, are pushing Discovery Communications to pull the plug. How about at that for freedom of speech?
[ELLIS] HENICAN: Strategic misstep on the part of the lefty groups, as you mentioned. Let the woman talk. Believe me, the more she talks, the better off they are.
(LAUGHTER)
[JON] SCOTT: Interesting that some of these folks who dont like her I mean, she puts eyeballs in front of television sets, right?
MILLER: Yeah, and she got a network to pay her a million dollars per episode to do this. But I found the most interesting review to come from Karl Rove, who is not exactly a left wing lunatic, who said this is not going to advance her presidential prospects. This doesnt make her look presidential. Id listen to Karl.
TROTTA: And the numbers keep going down every time she makes appearance, her popularity numbers. You have to keep track of those. The more you see her, the less you like her. And overexposure is something the Democrats have to pray for.
SCOTT: So you think that
TROTTA: Plus the fact that they can bank on the timidity of most men, who are so absolutely spooked by feminism that theyre afraid to criticize her.
HENICAN: Give her something on the Cartoon Network
Special Report has been doing segments on all the ‘front-runners’ over the past week. Last night was Romney’s turn. It wasn’t any more ‘pro’ on him than on any of the others they’ve looked at.
I watched the show. I can see liberals not liking the gun shooting and mountain climbing adventure.
Palin is Palin, she is real. Some people think Palin doing a reality show is a tacky as Obama giving an interview to Ryan Seacrest. Like it is unpresidential to hear or say the word, dude.
I enjoyed the show. The MSM love to diss Palin nothing new here. How the independents view her is what counts. I got ill watching Romney chum it up for a 2012 bid dismissing RomneyCare. Yet...I have heard some Independents (not myself) like his economics.
Right. Fox is just hiring and presenting libtards with a huge fear and grudge against Sarah Palin, they seem to be hiring no-name talk show Leftists and out-right Marxists like that fast-talking babbler O’Reilly features: Marc-Lamont-Hill. That guy has nothing valid to spew.
As for Trotter and Miller. Trotter apparently has no shame and Miller is a snob’s snob with that teenage smile always pasted on her face. Grow-up Judith or go back to the NYT.
It's to the right of CNN but CNN in America to the right of CNN Internationale.
You only see these people on the weekend. They’re really second rate media types. Palin probably makes them jealous.
Good analogy. Worth checking out;)
I can’t add anything to your wonderful comments.
Thanks very much, Navy Patriot!
It doesn’t matter who you are if you are inside the beltway and want to be part of the in crowd, you will eventually find yourself mocking those who espouse the conservative principles that made this country exceptional for a couple of hundred years.
Ellis is clueless. He’s so far to the Left, he doesn’t know he has a right hand.
I tellya, that picture and others like that are making leaders worldwide look at her and go.....uh, oh, if they’re unfriendlies, and whew, if they’re friendlies.
Instant respect.
She's another elite....Rove and Perrino are the same way. None of them like what Palin represents to their future as leaders of OUR party!
You betcha! (I hear you were a star the other night)!
WELL DONE! “Grate” call!
You’re right! Trotta opens her mouth and out spews inanity. She is both mean and clueless.
Judith Miller is a liberal.
Ellis Henican is not only a liberal, but a particularly odious one.
Liz Trotta has been on record as a Palin-basher for over a year. Plus, she once had to apologize for suggesting Obama be shot, so discretion is not her strong suit.
Scott doesn’t say anything in this clip that is out of line or even negative.
So, I don’t see why this is considered news.
Moreover, The Other McCain is losing it if he thinks it’s a violation of “Fair and Balanced” for this to happen. If the idea is that Fox has to find people who are liberals but love Sarah Palin, good luck with that.
LOL. At the west foot of the GW Bridge.
I agree with you. Karl Rove has his own interests and his do not include supporting CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVES.
He’s big-tent GOP, and Tea Party Republicans, not very much.

I was going to watch the show out of curiosity, but forgot it was on. My husband and I were happily surprised to turn on the tv just in time to catch the repeat. We were glued to the tv and I was shocked at how good it was. If anything, I thought it helped her look more presidential. I wasn’t for a presidential run for her because I thought the opposition to her would be too great. Now I’m not so sure after this first episode.
Fox News Watch - airs on Saturday’s.
