Fox News pays Sarah Palin as a contributor to their network. And apparently to be fair and balanced, they also pay Judith Miller and Liz Trotta to make fun of Sarah Palin:
UPDATE: Heres what was said:
LIZ TROTTA: Alessandra Stanley [of the New York Times] had the best line [in her Nov. 11 review]. She said the new [Palin TLC] show was like The Sound of Music without the Nazis, without the romance and without the music.
JUDITH MILLER (laughing): Oh, the Washington Post hated it, too . . . [Post TV critic Hank Steuver] said [Palin has] the kind of sound of a voice when warning you to heed the bears it would actually scare the bears. . . . He said you just get the sense that all shes waiting for when shes looking at this great outdoors is to get back to her SUV for enough bars to send out her latest twitter about the beauty of the environment.
OK, thats what was said during the commercial break. Heres what was said when the show came back on the air:
SCOTT: She has gotten a lot of heat for that new show. Some lefty groups, Ellis, are pushing Discovery Communications to pull the plug. How about at that for freedom of speech?
[ELLIS] HENICAN: Strategic misstep on the part of the lefty groups, as you mentioned. Let the woman talk. Believe me, the more she talks, the better off they are.
(LAUGHTER)
[JON] SCOTT: Interesting that some of these folks who dont like her I mean, she puts eyeballs in front of television sets, right?
MILLER: Yeah, and she got a network to pay her a million dollars per episode to do this. But I found the most interesting review to come from Karl Rove, who is not exactly a left wing lunatic, who said this is not going to advance her presidential prospects. This doesnt make her look presidential. Id listen to Karl.
TROTTA: And the numbers keep going down every time she makes appearance, her popularity numbers. You have to keep track of those. The more you see her, the less you like her. And overexposure is something the Democrats have to pray for.
SCOTT: So you think that
TROTTA: Plus the fact that they can bank on the timidity of most men, who are so absolutely spooked by feminism that theyre afraid to criticize her.
HENICAN: Give her something on the Cartoon Network
No - but a review describes it as ‘Bawdy’ and the cover is rather risque.
do share;)
I was actually *mocking* the over-sensitivity.
It’s going to be a long couple of years.
Huh? Liberal "men" have made a freaking sport of criticizing her.
Fox news is not what they pretend to be.
Neither is Karl Rove. He thinks hes some sort of founding father of a phony kind of Republicanism, remade in his image.
The extremism of Karl Rove is measured by the distance he puts between himself and constitutional conservatism.
None of these pansies will meet Palin head to head on substance.
What show was this?
.......... these idiots are scared to death over the power this private citizen has in political circles ,,,,, and Foxs’ lefty competition can’t say Fox doesn’t have it’s own liberal nut cases . Fair and Stupid would be a better montra than Fair and Balanced .
I know, I always laugh when I hear someone say how Fox News is “Conservative” I LOL at that..do they lean more right, sure, but as far as Conservative, absolutely NOT
Then there are a lot of fools and liberals right here on Free Republic.
And when I read their posts I want to puke.

“Ellis Little-hands” :)
Love that picture and notice how Sarah has her arms fully wrapped around Trig with her chin touching his head.
I wish I could find the video of Hillary Clinton when Bill was giving his concession speech (after losing his re-election for Gov. of Arkansas). Hillary had 2 year-old Chelsea on her lap - the poor infant was sliding off but HC had this grief stricken look on her face - she had no concern about little Chelsea. It was a perfect cameo contrast.
it was really more of a reference to your post (I’m paraphrasing here, so please excuse my not getting it exactly right). Something about weight lifting and adding more weight eventually you’ll be able to bear the weight of the world...
Bobby Jack made a bet with his boss (I believe it was his boss anyhow) that he could lift a a full grown bull by starting out while it was a calf and lifting it once every day - thus conditioning his body to be able to lift more and more weight gradually. Eventually the bull came to like the attention and was also conditioned to the daily lift. Regardless, there was a point where the bull grew too big and Bobby Jack could no longer lift him no matter how hard he tried. I believe there is a moral to the story in there somewhere... oh yes, eventually no matter how much you try some things are insurmountable (not everything, but some things), something about pride, etc...
That is what the media attempts to do - make the climb insurmountable. In this case, Sarah may just prove them wrong.
They will know now!
This is in Breaking News on the premiere conservative website, viewed by untold numbers of people! Thousands each day!
“Have these people EVER set foot in fly-over country?”
A little off topic, but I recall Laura Ingraham interviewing/debating some lib chick — I think it was the Code Pink spokesbabe. Laura asked, “How do you think people feel who are listening to you in the heartland?” Chick asked, “What’s the heartland?” Laura shrieked with laughter. All the libs are clueless about real Americans.
Thank you, kcvl!

Be sure to tell the receptionist that you read about it FREE REPUBLIC
Fox is becoming more and more lefty.
I just wrote down the number. I will give them a piece of my mind
"FOX News is a Romney channel. "
True enough. The weekend programming is really stuffed full of them. Still, I'd bet a large sum of money that the Fox News powers that be wouldn't allow this same group of liberal panelists to mock their golden boy, Bill O'Reilly, for even a minute. The same courtesy should be extended to Sarah Palin, or to no one at all.
