I have been trying to figure out the pathology of this constant carping, sort of a hyper-criticism of SP and her supporters.
I think it is a case of “how dare she think she can be President of the United States, how dare she even run”.

I think it's more fear that we may have another Ronald Reagan like republican here and we have to stop her now before she becomes Super Palin. Or the just don't want women in high political places. Aka: Karl Rove.
