It’s not an American Western, but Quigley Down Under, Tom Selleck is one of my all time favorite gun-play movies. ... “You idiot, he’s hit everything he’s aimed at!” ... “Never said I didn’t know how to use one.”

Yup. I love Quigley. Selleck was just inducted into the western hall of fame this year. He has a gun collection and uses authentic pieces in his westerns. He says he hates it when they use an 1890 Winchester in an 1870’s movie.

I liked “The Quick and The Dead”, the one with Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Russel Crowe, and Leonardo DiCaprio. The characters were all over-the-top, but it was fun. Movies like this are supposed to be entertaining, but lack the gritty realism of “Lonesome Dove” or “The Unforgiven”.
