In the world of science and engineering, Harvard degrees in the marshmallow subjects are not respected.
Harvard’s standards are going the way of GM’s standards...and the results are becoming painfully obvious.
Our most illustrious professors of black studies!
so much for a color blind society.
So much for the content of ones character.
The bigoted racist left only see color, religion etc.
Affirmative action is yet another racist policy enacted by the left.
Off the top of my head, I can only think of one Harvard Prof, Charles Lieber, that is worth his/her salary in science/engineering.
I know a couple of Harvard alums with a child now attending college there. These libs are shocked at the emphasis on diversity. It’s not the school they attended. I am amused watching their cognitive dissonance on display.
Which are the marshmellow subjects. I know the Kennedy School is referred to as “Camelotte High”, but which others did you have in mind?
The valedictorian of my high school class (2004) went to Harvard. She is now struggling to finish medical school. She minored in sociology while attending Harvard. I’m guessing all that commie drivel must have fried her logic board.
All for the best. The last thing anyone wants is a leftist doctor who measures the worth of her patients.
My SO and I watch the TV show, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader". We watch it to learn, and also to see how much we remember from our youth.
It still amazes us that college graduates don't know the simplest of questions that are taught from the 1st up to the 5th grade (most get the 1st & 2nd grade questions correct).
Here's a typical 3rd grade astronomy question: What is a light year? A measure of time, distance, or space? Got answer? Or: What is the capitol of Nebraska (hint: It's not Lincoln)? Or: Who was the second President after George Washington? No fair Googling.
Yes, I understand your mind can only hold so many memories, unlike the bogus scientific beliefs of the past that said we retain all memories. Anyone over the age of 50 knows that is pure speculative BS, much like global cooling and global warming.
“She minored in sociology “
What a waste of time that is! It’s not even a real field!
It may have been a real field at some point.
Part of sociology is the study of “social deviance”...or used to be.
How exactly does one make that politically correct? Not sure I want to know....
Harvard could solve the problem by awarding posthumous degrees to a total of about 750 hundred dead people from among the following categories: Afro-American slaves, Sioux warriors and squaws, Chinese coolies who worked on the first trans-USA railroad, etc. etc. Just make sure that 51% are female. Then large, newly commissioned oil portraits of these distinguished alumni/alumnae could be displayed with appropriate pride.
Could have been worse.Could have been a minor in Women’s Studies which some attendees may think is a prerequisite to specializing in gynecology in Med School.
>> How many are conservative Republicans? <<
A lot, no doubt about it.
In fact, I should imagine that almost anybody who graduated from an Ivy League school before WW 2 would have been a Federalist, Whig or Republican — and he likely would have been of English or Dutch ancestry. For better or worse, students who were Democrats, Catholics, Jews, peoples of colour and recent immigrants definitely weren’t numerous back then at any of the Ivies.
with barack obama as their poster boy, they should rethink their position.
Perhaps they could research their records and come up with some composites of what they may have looked liked. After all, the statue of John Harvard is just a guess too, for AFAIK, they didn't have any depictions of him. He died fairly young of "consumption" aka TB, iirc.
The Kennedy School is beyond hope. Totally liberal.
