What kind of idiot thinks that shipping American jobs overseas in order to hire slaves can result in anything other than us becoming a third world country? By the way, Mr. Globalist, what happened to all those high paying jobs the “new world order economy was going to bring us?

“What kind of idiot thinks that shipping American jobs overseas in order to hire slaves can result in anything other than us becoming a third world country? By the way, Mr. Globalist, what happened to all those high paying jobs the “new world order economy was going to bring us?

Are you on the right boards here my friend? Who “ships jobs overseas?” The government? No, we chase them away. Why are there no factories here? Because someone “shipped them away”? No, they left because the business climate was too difficult here to make money. Unions, taxes, environmental concerns, pay offs to politicians, protesters telling them plastics are bad, the NIMBY crowd who sues a factory that was there BEFORE they moved in, and now they want it gone, plus you can’t build a factory anywhere, folks don’t want to see smokestacks, they want to see spotted owls and frogs.

No one wants to “ship jobs overseas”, but American companies do what they can to stay in business. Should the American companies just fold up and close down because some asshat like you thinks they shouldn’t be competitive? No, they should adapt, and sometimes adapting means getting out of a hostile environment. America is a hostile environment to business. America at large does not want business here. Oh, they want the money, but just not the factories. Just not the stuff that goes with the factories, like you know, trucks on the road, and pollution, and chain link fences, and smokestacks. No, folks want factories to operate in Hobbit Holes with flowers around them like New Zealand or some such fantasy land, where union workers make $5,000 dollars an hour, and retire at the age of 40, with full benefits for life, and the rest of the world is supposed to buy our widgets for $1,000 bucks each to support that cause, while in China they are making the same widget for $20 bucks?

And as to the earlier post about child-labor, guess what, as a business owner I can tell you, that labor costs are not the biggest impact on my bottom line. Legal costs, health insurance, taxes and regulations, and all sorts of inane government do-good ideas are what stifles my hiring. Telling me who I can hire, who I can fire, what I must pay them, what bennies I must provide, etc. Remember, when regulations cost me x amount, that x amount comes out of the pot, and that pot is used to pay my employees. So, blame your gub’mint for not giving you a high paying job, I guess, because they have taken too much from the X pot, and there aint enough cheese to go around anymore.

Our “widgets” already cost too much, and I can’t get that profit from the ass of a unicorn, it has to come from the end consumer, and the end consumer just can’t afford it anymore.

And further, I AM A CAPITALIST. And GOD BLESS any man who is self sufficient, and goes out and takes a chance, mortgages his life away for a chance at the American Dream, and piss on anyone who tells him he can’t do it, or he must do it while supporting union loafers, or he must do it while supporting gub’mint employees, and every hobo on the street.

I tell folks who work for me, and some of those who don’t, if it so easy to become a rich bastard and take advantage of all those around you, then go ahead and do it. No one is stopping anyone from starting a factory and making widgets. If you want to make a factory, and not ship jobs overseas, then have the guts to do it my friend, because playing armchair quarterback, and letting others decide your fate shows me that you are sheeple, and you will gripe and moan no matter what pasture they put you on, or no matter what hill they lead you up to.

You are NOT guaranteed a job, you are NOT guaranteed free housing, you are NOT guaranteed a pension, but as far as I know, you ARE guaranteed the right to start a business and take matters into your own hands.

I don’t get mad at the bully in the playground. I want to go work out, learn karate and then go kick his ass. What I do get mad at, are the playground teachers that tell me I can’t hit him back, or I must hit him back wearing eco-friendly clothing, and buy a mask to protect myself from blood, then I must hire the EPA to cordon off the area, in case it gets out of hand, then I must file for 15 permits to go kick his ass, oh, and I have to make sure I have the right insurance, oh, and provide insurance for him as well, and then I have to make sure none of the witnesses sue me, because they don’t like violence. But its the bullies fault right? NO, ITS OUR OWN GUB’MINTS FAULT for not letting me go kick his ass!

The best “high paying job” is not the one you are hoping is going to fall into your lap because of protectionism, but the one you MAKE. Grow a sack, and take a risk on your future. I would rather live one day as a lion, than a lifetime as a sheep. But that’s just me. I’m not waiting around for Obama, McCain or anyone else to give me a high paying job.

I don’t believe we can have “free trade” with unfree countries, but I don’t think slapping a huge tax on imports is helpful at all to the economy.

If you think taxes are good for the economy, I suppose you’ll be voting Democrat?
