The American people sent a strong message to President Obama on Tuesday night. Keep the change!!! The Republican Party went from having 178 seats in the House of Representatives in the 111th Congress to acquiring 239 seats in the upcoming 112th Congress (a win of 61 seats). As for the Senate, the Republicans went from having 41 seats in the 111th Congress to acquiring 46 seats in the 112th Congress (a win of 5 seats). Republicans also picked up at least 10 governorships that may shake up the game a bit before the 2012 presidential election.
The Power of the Tea Party:
The Tea Party movement sent strong signals both to the liberal Democrats and to the elite Republican establishment that Constitutional Conservatism is alive, well, and strong. When those within the tea party lost their jobs, lost their pensions, lost their houses, and so forth due to liberal Democrat policies (policies of subtraction and confiscation), it was time to clamp down, learn about the Constitution, learn our countrys founding principles, and learn perhaps for the first time as a nation, how to research things and access the freedoms that we are entitled to as a people. I think that one of the most important components regarding the 2010 election is that the Tea Party showed the Republican establishment elite that there is no winning when you try to compromise with those who say, I won. Its my way period. That is where you discourage your base, and that is what helped add to John McCains loss in 2008. When morale in this country is low, we need to pick it up. The Tea Party movement if you will remember consists of Conservative Republicans, Conservative Democrats, and Independents.
Conservatism is about limited Government, upholding and defending the Constitution, and the Government leaving us and our wallets alone so that we end up being in control of our own lives as opposed to an isolated, wealthy, arrogant elite being in control of us.
My Predictions:
I have no doubt in my mind that Obama will act cordially in the beginning, but it will change, and I believe that it will change fast. Right now, the President just learned that the Republicans have won. In other words, hes acting sort of cool right now because Pelosi and Reid are still in charge of the 111th Congress. But when the 112th Congress convenes January 3rd of 2011, the reality will set in and I expect that a collision will take place between Obama and Boehner, especially when it comes to matters of the economy, spending, and taxes. President Obama is a fiercely partisan ideologue, and he is used to getting his way on things. I believe that the Presidents partisanship will blind him from being receptive to reason. I could then see the country go in a deeper free fall in the midst of the arguments I expect to come. Boehner will want to cut spending, Obama wont. Obama will want to give people more of what they earned, Obama wont. In so doing, Obamas special interests (most of which are unions) will want more job opportunities at taxpayer expense, Boehner wont. I also believe that the Republicans will shine some light on things hidden in the dark that will force the media to cover. The media has kept silent on many key, important secrets that have been crafted behind closed doors, passed into law behind closed doors, and only noticed by Constitutional lawyers and watchdog groups. This will be a very interesting two years.

Lame Duck is their last chance to plunder.
I thought of that too. In fact, if the 111th Congress tries to initiate revenge, then we can take down the names of the Representatives and Senators who are up for re-election in 2012 and use that hard against them. Some candidates might not remember, but I will take notes. And hopefully if Sarah Palin is the nominee, she will hit Obama right where it hurts. 2012 will be very interesting.
Special Ed and the rest of the left wing talking heads were in high gear last night. The conversations were not conciliatory but were aggressively hostile. If the GOP thinks they can roll back the obamacare fiasco they had better move quickly. The left is ready to fight.
obama will NEVER roll back his agenda - I really dont think he cares about re-relection - his purpose was to get this stuff IN.
I would not be surprised if his India/Indonesia trip were one-way. How much of that stimulus money is unspent? feds have no idea where the money went - wonder if he’ll settle down in indonesia or kenya somewhere as king - or president for life with billions of American bucks in the bank. Although they wont be worth as much once bernake is done, its still more than anyone here will have left.
