VANITY: Split Ticket or Voter Fraud in WV and NV

Posted on 11/03/2010 10:07:40 AM PDT by The Political genius

Forgive me if this has already been covered in one of the previous threads but this is just too screwy for me to digest!

Ok, just trying to make some sense of this nonsense in West Virginia and Nevada from last night. So I was crunching numbers from the GOP tide in both states from the House Races vs The Senate Race! Here is what I came up with.

WV:

Manchin: 281,661.....Raese: 227,960

3 House seats: (R) 279,686..... (D) 225,651

NV:

Reed: 361,655.....Angle: 320,996

3 House seats:(R) 356,909..... (D) 316,877

Really??? Maybe it's just me, but I find it hard to believe that many folks would split their tickets!!

Am I wrong???

The number of ballots don’t even match up.

Some folks leave some races blank.

What I find interesting is this:

Manchin (D)

Raese (R)

Total

281661

227960

509621

55%

45%

House (R)

House (D)

Total

279686

225651

505337

55%

45%

Reed (D)

Angle (R)

Total

361655

320996

682651

53%

47%

House (R)

House (D)

Total

356909

316877

673786

53%

47%

The 55-45 flipped in WV and the 53-47 flipped in NV.

If there’s one Blue area that perplexes me, it’s the Eastern half of Iowa.

That is perplexing. What goes on in that area? Is it all farming or is there some industry there? How about corn for Ethanol or wind farms? There is something there that draws either liberals, unions or government workers. I’m not that familiar with Iowa. Been there, but don’t know about it’s demographics.

I’ve been there a few times as well. Iowa City has the University of Iowa, so I can see the blue there. But the rest of the eastern part of the state seems to be agriculture and agricultural processing (Cedar Rapids smells like cornflakes from time to time.)Farm subsidies are usually a bipartisan issue, so that probably isn’t it. It must be a held-over Scandinavian immigrant thing, like parts of Winnesota and Wisconsin.

>I fear the “lame duck” congress.<

you and me both. Nazi Pelosi is going to go for broke. The mindset in DC is now that their policies weren’t wrong, it was the selling of it all.
They still think that they knew better than everyone else and the public be damned, push it through just like they did with Health Care.

They are going to cause an uprising if they pull this crap, things do not look good. Our lame ducks are out of touch with reality.

when I heard them talking about taxes as being voluntary. As if you have some choice on paying them. Then people like Obama saying that taxing people 100% is okay as long as their needs are met.

The American dream is over if these people are accepted while saying things like this. There will never be a way to get a head further than the government allows. That is not the american dream, it is the american nightmare
