I don’t know how it runs on a Mac, but after using the FREE OpenOffice package, I can’t see any reason to go back to Microsoft Office.

OpenOffice does everything MS-Office does and does it just as well.

And yes, it reads & writes MS-Office formated files.

Please tell me more about Open Office. How do I get it, and will it work smoothly with old Office files? I need to replace several computers at my office in the next 6 moths, and one of the pricey add ons is MS Office for everyone. We are still using Office 2000 and 2003.

Most of the people actually use Office very little, but it must be on all the machines. I’m talking about 10 users.

I can get new computers for everyone for around $500 ea., but the Office adds considerably to that since $500 machines don’t usually come with Office.

I’m eager for any information you can give me that will help me replace my aging system earlier. You can answer me here, or FReep Mail me. Thanks.
