“Shocker: IL-08 Pledge-hater also OfA drone.

A follow-up to yesterday’s post on the Pledge scandal in IL-08: it turns out that the League of Women Voters moderator (one Kathy Tate-Bradish) just happened to be a hardcore OfA member and Obama supporter.  Everybody shocked, raise your hands… no, me neither.  Admit it: you didn’t even think that she was anything except a typical Democratic elitist, right?  And, oddly enough, you were clearly right to think that.

Also, guess what?  The local LWV grand poobah thinks that the whole thing was a Republican plot.  I don’t know what’s funnier: that the Democrats think that we’re plotting against them, or that they’re conceding that making Democrats recite the Pledge of Allegiance is a successful slam against their political party…”

These particular women aren't all that bright, either. It could very easily have been handled graciously, both by the moderator that night and by the local "leadership" and have ended up reflecting positively upon both of them and the LWV.

"Pledge of Allegiance? We hadn't planned to...oh, how remiss of us! Of course we will! Thank you so much for reminding us!"

But no, they default to their apparently normal state, that of being perpetually offended and paranoid (it was a Republican plot!) and make things far worse. For themselves, of course.

Yes, this Kathy Tate-Brandish moderator (that hyphenated surname is commonly a red flag for a leftist woman), who objected to the recitation of the Pledge, also hosted an Obama for president event at her home in Evanston, IL back in 2007!

Does the League of Women Voters still call itself "non-partisan"? It's about as "non-partisan" as NOW or NARAL.
