I enjoyed it also. It was not the typical vampire movie.

One with a similar title & a bit disturbing/unsettling but well done was recent release Never Let Me Go

Did you say Mystery Science Theater 3000?

The guys behind MST 3000 are back in theaters with a live show this Thursday showing their take on “House on Haunted Hill.” They did “Reefer Madness” back in August and it was hilarious.

Yeah, Rifftraxx—check out some 10 minute excerpts on Youtube, there are a bunch of them there. There’s also Cinematic Titanic, made up of the first-season group plus “TV’s Frank” who do something similar. I’ve got some of their previous ones on DVD—THE ALIEN FACTOR is hilarious.

The Social Network was really good as was The Town.

I admit I haven’t had much time to watch movies lately. But about two weeks ago I finally got to see Steven Spielberg’s “Minority Report”...in blu-ray no less. I’d always wanted to see it.

And I’d almost say it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.

“The Fourth Kind” scared me to death-—until I learned that the so-called documentary scenes which were claimed to be authentic were pure Hollywood.

It’s the Halloween season and AMC is showing some great old horror classics (The Raven, Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc.).

Yes, excellent movie! The theater where we saw it was crowded and people clapped and cheered when he won.

Kolya.
Absolutely delightful. Great movie.

Molière.
Not bad French comedy sort of thing. I liked it.

Everything Is Illuminated.
One of the best movies I've ever seen. I highly recommend it.

Chronos.
Fascinating.

Seabiscuit.
I was a late comer to this one. Loved it.

Russian Ark.
Brilliant, if you're into foreign artsy things. One shot for the entirety of the movie. Have no idea how they accomplished that.

Sideways.
Again, I'm late to this party, but I'm glad I came. Nice movie with good performances.

Come and See.
Soviet propaganda, yes. But well done and it will make you like Nazis even less than you do now.

Moon.
One of the best movies ever. Sam Rockwell was robbed of an Oscar.

Mongol.
Didn't expect much, but was surprised. Great epic movie of the first order.

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
Favorite movie ever.

Do you have a favorite MST3K episode?

I like I Blame My Parents and Werewolf, but others are equally funny.

I Blame My Parents is great. So is Mitchell. I think I laughed during Red Zone Cuba more than any other. But my favorite is probably Santa Claus. Hilarious.

On a friend’s suggestion I just saw the 2006 movie “Outsourced,” which apparently inspired the new TV series. American newbie goes to India to set up a call center, with diverting results. It comes off just a little low-budget, but it’s really pretty good. I was impressed with the Indian actress in the leading lady role.
