Every day in one district, I took notes and de-programmed the high-school students after they were fed garbage for 15 minutes at the start of the school day from televisions mounted on the walls... The students really enjoyed my counterpoint/additional-information commentary as part of their “learning”. The kudos from former students still come to this day.

Yes, they certainly do appreciate alternate viewpionts. As a sometime sub, I love seeing the grins on their shining little faces.

Thanks much for your very important work when you substitute teach, Maggie. I found that you can touch a whole lot of lives in a very short amount of time. I enjoyed every moment as I talked to the high school and middle school students (much more challenging) as young men and women.
