My folks are retirees with a major US corporation. Their secondary ins policy to medicare has always been free. As the years went by the coverage was less and less...but now, they’ve been told they’ll get $50 per person to pay for a medigap policy that they’ll have to purchase themselves, no more company coverage for retirees. Only trouble is, medigap that comes near to what they now have will cost them around 200-250 per person, per month. So they’ll get 100 back, but be putting out 400-500 for the same coverage that they haven’t had to pay for to this point. I’m not sure what they’ll do...the Medicare Advantage plans are cheaper, but their doctors aren’t on them, so we’ll see.
