I agree and disagree with your obsessive crusade.

If they just copy/paste wire excerpts and use their blog as simply a gateway (scoring the google ad views), then you are right. They are blog pimps.

However, for videos... Embedding is legit. And if it comes down to clicking a link to a conservative blog (that embeds a video) over a “direct link” to say the lib scums at CNN or YouTube... I’m supporting the conservative blog.

In latter case, I would call them video aggregators (just like Breitbart and Drudge), spending time sourcing the best clips, etc. So there is nothing wrong with what they do, and we need as many as possible on our side side. SEO/Keywording is important in this fight. IMO.

The video still plays on Youtube when embedded on a blog.

Usually the pimp gives no credit to the owner or producer of the video.. straight pimpin'.

An embedded video won’t play on my BlackBerry, the youtube video will play.

If the goal is to get the message to the most conservatives, include the full content at FreeRepublic and post the video link.

I don’t have a complaint with the blog. I have a complaint with the blog using FreeRepublic and not including the content.
