The start up cost for a nuclear power plant is extremely high. It takes a couple of decades to recoup the costs. Thus the needs for loans and federal guarantees before construction starts. So, for a nuclear power plant to be cost effective, the price of energy (electricity) needs to go up. How is that done???
Cap & Trade. The oxymoron is that in order to have more affordable energy, we have to pay more for it.
