But the point remains that few organizations have been as successful in saving lives/souls as AA, and it focuses on a “Higher Power” rather than on any line of faith/religion.
The thinking probably was that once one believes in that Higher Power, and cleans up that disastrous aspect of his/her life, s/he can then follow whatever faith they were raised in or then become drawn to. And it’s been very successful.
I don’t know any AA’s whose Christian or Jewish faith hasn’t been strengthened from the 12 steps program. Don’t know anyone who’s Muslim or Buddhist or Hindu who’s gone thru AA, so have no point of reference there.
