I also thought that way, until one Freeper pointed out the other possibility: the Dhims send their biggest names to DE not specifically to help Coons, but to keep DE Senate race in national highlight. They consider COD as a poster girl of what’s wrong with the Tea-Party backed Republicans, and by reminding people about the race constantly, it which might help their candidates in other races.

Maybe, but look at what they are doing, they are sending a very unpopular prez, and two certifiable loons, to show what is wrong with tea party backed candidates.....LOL! The irony is overwhelming. But I guess its all they have in a very desparate year for dems.

I tend to agree with this view. COD is down by double digits in most polls, so they believe it’s safe for the Dem leadership to go there.

If they can frame the ‘WITCH’ OD as a Tea-Party “loony”, they may be able to get national milage out of it.

We need to understand their strategy in order to develop effective responses.

if/when they win, then they will try to spin it as a major victory over the tea party. The media won’t care that it was their own turf that they had to fight for.

I can see why they would do that, but I think it’s a mistaken tactic. The clock is on the verge of striking midnight and I just don’t think there’s much the Dems can do to change their future.

Biden was in King County yesterday and though he is always good for a laugh, his visit was a major flop.

Also Dems think DE is a sure win. By going there they will claim, after the tsunami, that they were personally successful somewhere.

Imagine the story if Palin goes then O’Donnell wins. The press won’t know what to do with itself until it figures out that not only Biden, Obama, etc. lost to Palin but Rove did too.
