Thanks for the ping. After Daschle let it slip that Obama made a deal with the ins. companies to take single-payer off the table, it sounds to me like some members of the Dem base WANT to make Obama look bad. We shall see.
Daschle spoke to a gathering of health insurance agents (I was there) and told us EXACTLY how this legislation would go down. The companies are simply playing hardball to get more of the pie.
The fix was in on this whole mess the moment that the dems had a veto-proof majority in both houses.
