Believe it or not, the only ones who might help Nancy Pelosi save her House majority are those who run legislative affairs at the NRA. So called Blue Dog Democrats across the nation are campaigning as red meat conservatives in their home districts, while running deceptive ads about their Republican opponents. They campaign as if they have nothing to do with the Democrat Party that they propelled to power and which passed all of the nefarious legislation that they purport to oppose. The sick irony is that the more successful these liars are in distancing themselves from Pelosi, the more likely it will be that Pelosi will remain Speaker. I don't understand why FReepers don't see politics as a pendulum. Did we all think 1994 was a permanent majority? Did the Democrats not also see 2006 and 2008 as a "permanent shift in the electorate?" Let's not be naive. We have a hostile press and imperfect politicians.
We will always need organizations championing our causes until we turn into a dictatorship.

I’m an NRA member and surely won’t vote for the Demorat they endorsed in PA 10. I wouldn’t vote for a Carney if the NRA offered me a free life membership.

The NRA has been compromised. Either clean it out or dump it for something more compatible with our goals. We should expect the organizations that we pay memberships to, to be as belligerent to the enemy as we are and under no circumstances should that organization give aid and comfort to the enemy. Ever... For any reason.... NEVER...
Sorry. The NRA is NOT a Republican group. Its not even a conservative group. It is following its own policy of endorsing incumbents that supported pro-Second Amendment policies endorsed by the NRA. It is being consistent. These guys paid the price of admission (voting for pro-gun policies) and the NRA is rewarding them with a endorsement. It doesn’t matter that Nancy Pelosi “allowed” them to vote that way.
This crap is just an attempt to undermine the most effective pro-Gun organization in the US. No other organization (esp. the GOA) done nearly as much as the NRA to protect the Second Amendment.

There is some merit to the notion that a certain density of pro-NRA democrats could help deflect some anti-gun legislation at an earlier stage of development. There are also moderate-liberal and/or democrat-independents who factor preservation of firearms rights into their voting decisions. An unexpectedly high percentage as I recall.
The NRA just endorsed Kirt Schrader (D) in Oregon. He has a 97% Pelosi voting record. Disgusting.
