I have had that discussion before on John Semmons’ threads...
I have always felt that for satire to be REAL satire, it MUST be distinguishable from reality in some way.
Unless there is stuff about eating the heads of babies or brain transplants, there is nearly no satire that may be written without the danger of immediate reality.
And even then...

When Republicans take the House they MUST do something to defund the UN and work very hard to get them all back to Geneva.
So close to the truth I was really PO’d before I saw it was satire.
