She’s not an illegal alien—she’s not from another planet.

-Gloria Allred

The Al Sharpton of womanhood, Gloria Allred, publicly indicted her own “client”, Nicki Diaz, on criminal charges, including being in the United States unlawfully and social security card fraud. The always histrionic Allred gave Meg Whitman’s campaign for the California governorship a boost with a nonsensical press conference. Diaz, on the other hand, showed considerable acting chops and should be fielding solicitations from Hollywood agents.

Allred making a spectacle of herself is not newsworthy by itself. This time, however, she is further out in left field than on previous occasions. Diaz was once employed by Whitman and her husband as a cleaning lady for the handsome sum of $23 per hour. The Whitmans hired Diaz via an agency.

For me, the story pretty much ends right there. You hire domestic help via an agency precisely because by doing so you can rest assured that the screening is already done.

The Whitmans eventually received a form letter from the Social Security Administration indicating a match up issue with Diaz’s social security number. These letters are sent out to clarify clerical errors. The letter itself admonished the Whitmans that they were prohibited from taking any action against Diaz, including terminating her employment. Whitman’s husband did what most busy professionals would have done—gave the letter to Diaz with the request that she take care of it.

Gloria Sharpton was so desperate to get herself some face time that it never seemed to occur to her that pronouncing her client guilty of serious crimes on national television may fall a bit short of “zealous advocacy.”

Mark Levin, who had a hoot of a good time eviscerating the drama queen, got Allred to reveal the nature of her “representation” of Diaz. To date, all she has done for Diaz is file an administrative claim with the Labor Commission. Greta Van Susteren provided the follow up on her Fox News Show, further exposing Allred for the incompetent buffoon she is.

I’ll admit I haven’t been especially enthused about Whitman until now. Of course, I am going to vote for her. I’ll vote for a piano playing chicken if I must to stop incompetent union hack Jerry Brown from getting control over the state again to continue the same asinine policies that created our current mess.

But, now I’m impressed. The Whitmans certainly pay their staff well. And the candidate has handled this assault admirably. I’m starting to warm up to her. The cartoonish Allred will end up being Whitman’s top fundraiser.

Nope

Nope, what? You don't have a source for your claim that the agency got $23 per hour and paid the housekeeper minimum wage. If that had been the arrangement, the Whitmans wouldn't have been paying her withholding and SS. The agency would have been doing that.

Unfortunate headline.

Frankly, I’m pretty sure Gloria has fingered plenty of um, clients.
