This morning, Republican Congressional Candidate Dale Glading blasted his Democratic opponent, Rep. Rob Andrews (D-Haddon Heights), for casting the deciding vote that could cost First District residents billions of dollars. Specifically, Glading called Andrews vote to put off debating the Bush tax cuts until after the November elections an act of cowardice.
Once again, Rob Andrews has put his own political ambitions above the interests of his constituents, Glading said. By delaying a vote on whether to let the Bush tax cuts expire or to make them permanent, Rob Andrews has chosen to play politics with peoples paychecks.
The Democrats in Congress fully intend to allow the tax cuts to expire, but they plan to do so during the lame duck session after the November elections, Glading charged. Their inaction will result in the largest tax increase in U.S. history and they dont have the political courage to say so.
The vote in the House to cut off debate was 210 to 209, meaning thats Robs vote was the deciding one, added Glading. If the tax cuts expire and peoples taxes rise dramatically, Rob Andrews will be singularly responsible.
This is one more indication of just how out of touch Rob Andrews is with his constituents, Glading concluded. After 20 long years as a Washington insider, I think its time for Rob Andrews to pack his bags, come home and get a real job, Glading concluded.
For God & country,
Dale Glading Republican Candidate for Congress, NJ-1
