he Republican Party made a spectacular mistake in publishing their A Pledge to America. In an attempt to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory they have raised questions about their own partys commitment to issues their base is most concerned with and about which they would like answers.
For instance, the pledge says nothing about a fence along the US/Mexico border. It is ambiguous about worksite enforcement of immigration laws and, most important of all, it does not mention amnesty for illegal aliens. WHY???
The 2008 Republican Platform committed the Republican Party to completing a border fence, enforcing immigration laws at the worksite, and opposing an amnesty. But The Pledge is ominously quiet on these extremely important issues. Again WHY?
The Pledge says this: Our borders are a vital part of our security, so we will act decisively to ensure that the federal government fulfills its constitutional duty to protect our citizens and our Nation, working closely with our state and local governments This is far too broad a statement to satisfy the GOP base not to mention the host of Independents and Tea Party members looking to cast a GOP ballot in November.
Nowhere in The Pledge is the word FENCE mentioned. The Pledge only says: We must take action to secure our borders, and that action starts with enforcing our laws. We will ensure that the Border Patrol has the tools and authorities to establish operational control at the border and prohibit the Secretaries of the Interior and Agriculture from interfering with Border Patrol enforcement activities on federal lands.

They have NO intention of ever putting up a fence to protect America!
OH shut up!
It was a pledge, not policy.
Why not ask Obama about his policy????
Oh that’s right, no one is allowed.
It was already in the platform, and the pledge is not a platform. It will by necessity be a bit more general.
We don’t need this right now. Even if they win many seats they will be strapped until they have a President that won’t veto everything.
There are things they can do, but this is not a Presidential election.
Lex, Sorry to tell you, but one look at your posting history leads me to believe you are a “concern troll.” Nice try.
Shut up? Oh really?
So why couldn’t they just pledge to finish building a modern, secure fence? Why all the gobledegook and weasel words?
Lex is a “concern troll.”
It seems to me a pledge is more effective if it is specific, not general.
Concern troll alert! Do you have a ping list?
How are you going to build a fence if you are broke. Stop the spending is #1.
Greta had a guy on FOX who had a cutting edge mechanism he invented that costs practically nothing to track illegal crossings. You can hold it in your hand. There is no question that a fence is a gazillion dollars and can be penetrated. Don’t think for a minute that we don’t have the know how to do this, and can do this.
We may win one of three branches in November. You don’t throw your weight around before then with a pledge of blue sky that you can not deliver until we are in power in at least 2 of 3 branches of government. We are forced to chill and wait, and pray, that what has been done is not so institutionalized that it takes another 18 months to undo it.
President Obama Rejects Republican Pledge

There is only ONE question: Are you with us or are you with Obama and his communist agenda?
Well,....?
Just another blog pimp...
Ask North Korea how you keep people from crossing your border. If we were serious about it, we know how to do it too.
Remember when we had all three branches? Not once in my life do I recall the Republicans when they had the majority actually reversing a Democrat Congress vote. Nor do I recall the Dems reversing the Republicans.
Obamacare will not be reversed, the border fence will not be completed, amnesty will get passed in one form or another.
How can I say this and be confident about it? There is absolutely no difference between the parties except their tactics. Their goal is to get this one world government in place and get total control over the populations by using the United Nations. I’ve been watching it come around for the past forty years. Every year they make another advancement, no matter what party is in control.
Look at your own city and see how many Agenda 21 programs are currently in place. Call the city manager, he knows.
Well of course you are right, but for the Tea Party. I believe 71% of republican likely voters identifying with the Tea Party will make holding two, maybe three, branches of government in the future will be a sea change from the past you accurately describe. No repeat of the Bush RINO Congress of yesterday.
My point was that we have the can-do to stop illegal crossings without a fence and a drone. Ask Israel. I just don’t think we need to blow up our gains promising blue sky that can’t come until we capture at least a second branch.
Even with capturing all three in 2012, the institutionalization that is occuring now and has two more years to entrench even further will take at least as long to undo. I think we’re looking at five years of undoing, if we’re lucky.
I must be really dense, because I’m just starting to realize what this blog pimp cr*p is about. In my mind they’re just blog pimp concern trolls. If you rarely respond to replies to your OP, how do you gain any credibility? Do these people just spam every internet forum with their spew?
Yes (hangs head in shame), I get it now. Why don’t they get the Zot?
I’m just an average Freeper that likes to engage in conversation. Obviously the OP just likes to troll their stuff.
Until we get someone in the WH who says, “Get the US out of the UN NOW!”, we are just fooling the voters. That is the core of the NWO/OWG.
Have you ever heard of prison labor?
Border security is a non-negotiable issue.
Period.
