When did you see Christine O'Donnell in your bedroom?
(Minds out of the gutter, boys.)
The idea that government opposing abortion and thinking porn is not a great thing for society has anything to do with government controlling people's lives is an empty-headed talking point invented by leftists who think with their groins.
It's especially hilarious when people like you apply the "government in your personal life" crap to pro-lifers like O'Donnell. Excuse me? Killing a small child and throwing her in the trash is now your "personal life?" Wrong answer, sparky, and it isn't religion that tells me that, it's science and plain old common sense. Government opposing that is no more an intrusion into your personal life than it's an intrusion when they arrest someone for killing their five year old, their wife or their next door neighbor.
Lastly, take a look at these:
1980
1984
Those electoral college maps were the result of the GOP nominating an "extremist" who was very, very strong on social issues, built a coalition of fiscal, defense/foreign policy and social conservatives and was the most conservative GOP president since Coolidge.
Those maps are the reason I say this now and will keep saying it: Every person on this board who says we need to play down the social issues is either a troll like you sawing away one of the legs of a three-legged stool, or they're telling us their true thoughts but the origin of those thoughts is their penis or their "I'm so much cooler and intellectual than those holy rollers" gland, not their brain. Their brain would remember 1980 and 1984.
Thus, the lesson is imparted. Now, go get those burns treated.
I believe no challenge is more important to the character of America than restoring the right to life to all human beings. President Ronald Reagan, January 1984
Today there is a wound in our national conscience. America will never be whole as long as the right to life granted by our Creator is denied to the unborn. - President Ronald Reagan, 1986 State of the Union address
Abraham Lincoln recognized that we could not survive as a free land when some men could decide that others were not fit to be free and should therefore be slaves. Likewise, we cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. My Administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have any meaning. ... Ronald Reagan, while sitting as the fortieth president of the United States, sent us this article shortly after the tenth anniversary of Roe v. Wade; we printed it with pride in our Spring, 1983 issue .....
