Apparantly, those sources are dubious. One of the books you cited uses the other one you cited as
its source.
That book used a calendar as its source? The quote was sent to the editors of James Madison's papers, who had this to say:
"We did not find anything in our files remotely like the sentiment expressed in the extract you sent us. "
In short, it appears to be a fraudulent quotation.
