We are not obligated to take a poison pill under the freedom of religion clause. We will either wake up to the threat or go quietly into the night.

Keyes lost my vote permanently. Quoting Keyes above: "'One word of caution,' Keyes said. 'We get into a defensive position as Americans because we have forgotten our own roots.' Reminding those assembled for his speech the night before in which he contended America owes its liberties, prosperity, rights and democratic republic government under the Constitution to dependence upon and submission to God as declared in the Declaration of Independence" . Insanely poor choice of words used there by the keynote speaker given the topic. Submission? Those are fighting words that should have tossed his pompous petard out the door. Only muslims 'submit' . Alan Keyes better go buy another copy of the Declaration of Independence and refresh his memory. He will not find the words "submission to God" anywhere in that document. However, if one cares to re-read the Declaration of Independence, it would become amply clear that the itemized grievances against the crown could readily be applied against Islam and sharia. Perhaps it's time to ressurect the Declaration of Independence specifically aimed against Islam and Sharia and present it as a referendum on the 2012 ballot.
