Thank you so much for that link. I've never read that. But I shall never forget it. Many years ago when I was a roughneck working on drilling rigs in west Texas, we were sitting in the doghouse one day talking about hunting, shooting and weapons in general. Our driller said: "I'll show you boys how to properly shoot a rifle if you're willing to learn and pitch in for the cost of the ammo." We agreed, and the very next day he brought an M-1 Garand and a couple of tins of ammunition.

Turns out he was a Marine and over the next few days we devoted every spare moment to learning to shoot that magnificent rifle in the manner he taught us. He also taught us to shoot a 1911 Colt. Then he sat us down and talked to us about why our newfound knowledge mattered. He made a big impression on me, and I purchased an M-1A and a Commander. And though I hope that I can do what must be done at the ballot box, my implements of freedom remain at the ready in the event that the worst comes to pass.

To anyone who would listen I would say: "Join the NRA. Join the Appleseed Project. Join the Tea Party. Honor the Constitution. Honor The Creator from whence our rights and freedoms spring. Honor life yet to be. And VOTE CONSERVATIVE!"

When they make the movie “ObamaCon” 20 or 30 years from now, I think the movie will open with images of people doing just this. To me it was like almost more emblematic of what we’re going through than anything you can name. Heaven help us all!
