Based on my 50 years of political observation, I think the "tea party" movement stands a good chance to be bigger and more effective than the "civil rights" movement of the 1960's (which I observed "up close and personal").

A key point in my thinking is the knowledge that the "civil rights" movement was at least partially a child of the news media, and a very unusual alliance of liberals and conservatives, while the tea party is growing even with media and liberal opposition.

If they stomp the RATS in Nov. it is important to know that it’s going to take many many more stompings than just one, or else thet’ll be right back pushing the socialist/marxist line. This needs to go on for 20 or more yrs. till the current crop of RATS/RINOS die off or are long retired.
