Krauthammer: DeMint and Palin Need to Get O’Donnell Elected Since They Got Her Nominated – Video

Here is video of Charles Krauthammer on with Bill O’Reilly tonight, where he said he believes there is a “1 in 10″ chance Christine O’Donnell will win the November Election to the U.S. Senate in Delaware.

Krauthammer said it is “a huge mistake” to jeopardize the Delaware Senate seat by nominating Christine O’Donnell over Mike Castle. Krauthammer’s contention is that it’s all about control of the Senate – whether you would rather have the GOP setting the agenda, or Harry Reid / Chuck Schumer as Majority Leader.

Krauthammer challenged Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin – whom he said got her nominated – to go to Delaware and help her get elected in November.

“Now show me,” Krauthammer said, about DeMint and Palin. He also said he hopes he is wrong, because the GOP needs Delaware to take control.

“Perhaps you and Charles should be lecturing Castle about helping.”

Actually, the people who should be working on Castle to help are the ones who campaigned hard for O'Donnell. The Tea Party, Palin, Levin, Hannity, Rush. These are the people who took Castle to task the last couple of weeks. And in doing so probably alienated the Castle supporters. Now it is time to get them back on track and that is going to be difficult. These are the same people who were saying you might as well vote democrat if you vote for Castle. I hope I am wrong, but they might get their wish.

Well, I agree with that... The media and really some of our political leaders are trying to stymie this Tea Party Revolution but it will not happen. Not only common sense will prevail, but it will transcend traditional politics.

This is the time for a new beginning - heh, and I am too old for this, but it is ripe for my son and those that care about this country... Dang, sounds like I’m a bit carried away here (corny comes to mind), but I still believe in this country and the Constitution... Go get em youngsters...

Okay then, not a word of critcism from you and Charles about Castle not supporting the Republican nominee.

Maybe their attacks on Christine have been just what she needed to call our attention to the actual status of Castle as a Republican. Win or lose, COD has gotten a hard core RINO retired. I cannot see how COD is such a drawback for us when the whole congress is suspect in any area that she is faulted for. And a lot more besides. Taking a look at the collective members of Congress, I wonder how we are to measure their worthiness to hold office? I suspect the worthiness of CODs detractors to pass judgement on her as well. From what I have heard, Christine O'Donnell will make a fine senator. She has plenty of backbone for sure, and that will be be a huge plus in offsetting the RINOS still in office.

The problem the establishment GOP has with Christine O'Donnell is her simple, basic Christianity. She is public, unembarrassed and unapologetic.

For the over-rated Rove, admittedly a member of what used to known as a mainline denomination, "she's said some nutty things."

For Krauthammer, and O'Reilly for that matter, who is always talking about his weird fantasy about "Christian extremists," it's embarrassment, unfortunately, and fear of embarrassment.

I hope Christians who going to vote this year at least consider the possibility that a great deal of this hatred and bigotry - from all sides - may be indicate the candidate has been doing something right.

Since I don’t live in Delaware and I did not have an audience to campaign for O’Donnell I really do not have a dog in this fight. All I am saying is the people who were instrumental in getting her nominated need to figure out how to finish the job. IMHO, some of those people are not doing O’Donnell any good continuing to bash Castle. I would not be worrying about Castle, it is his supporters they need.

And again, you lecture O'Donnell supporters, but you offer not a word of criticism for Castle, who could help with his supporters by endorsing O'Donnell.

Certainly you agree that Castle should endorse O'Donnell, right?

Certainly you agree that Castle should be criticized for not doing so, right?

“Certainly you agree that Castle should endorse O’Donnell, right?

I saw the interview and although I don’t always agree with him, I do most of the time and have great respect for him. I feel sure his answers to both your questions above would be yes. It would’ve been good if he’d said both those things, granted.

But I agree with his emphatic words that our most crucial objective has got to be winning the majority back - that’s the only way we can have any power to effect change. We’ve seen how powerless the repubs and conservatives have been the last 18 months (neutered, in fact) with Reid and Pelosi running things. That’s the bottom line, folks - principles and impassioned speeches (when the legislative King and Queen even allow them!) are great for the record, but have absolutely no teeth without holding the majority, in both houses if possible.

Now, I do like O’Donnell and in this historic year I think she’s electable but it may tough in that state. ‘Course, look at Mass. and NJ.

“You know he received calls from Obama and Biden?”

I’m sure. Yes, it was so classless not to make the congratulatory call to Christine.

Great idea for her campaign ads (as usual, Glenn Beck’s doing great service - he gave some background/info on Coons, her rival in the general election, and hopefully enough DE voters heard it). Anyway, part of it was that Harry Reid’s called Coons his “pet”. Well, what a great fact her campaign should use in their ads. The Left is doing such a smear job against her already, in the MSM, she MUST run a tough and really strong campaign.

“Odds are 1 in 10 she’ll win.”
-— Charles Krauthammer

“Never tell me the odds.”
-— Han Solo (who managed, against all odds, to evade the empire until being betrayed.)

These pundits are picking the winners and losers before the game is even played.

If Castle was such a shoe-in and O’Donnell such a loser, why was she able to come from so far behind to kick his ass?

The reason, quite simply, is because in an election cycle that saw the first African-born Muslim win the White House, anything is possible.

I don’t agree with you or Krauthammer, but I agree less with the vitro directed at you. Time to unite. There is plenty of time for rercrimination and “circular firing squads” after the election.

Yes, and that's the problem. Classically Republican party organizations have USED otherwise popular local Democrats to run as Republicans in districts where no regular Republican could win ~ e.g. downtown Boston!

The deal has always been that the RINO would vote with the Republicans to reorganize a legislative body to deprive Democrats control of the legislative agenda.

For the most part the folks misusing the term RINO have forgotten that the Republican party was most successful with this method to bust up Democrat majorities in state legislatures in the 1980s in Southern States! (drums beating du, do, du, do, do, do).

The RINO also was kept out of party organizational matters and party ideology. He or she was just there to screw the Democrats.

Here's a problem ~ the Democrats did the same deal ~ so we have Bluedogs these days. In the good old days we had the Southern Democrats who frequently voted with the Republicans in Congress ~ until the 1960s when the Republicans broke the back of the national Democrats in the civil rights laws passage. (That eventually paid off in the 2000s when Newt Gingrich took the House).

I think if you've got a Leftwingtard you should call him or her just that ~ don't waste RINO on pique.

Because all the interviews have shown me a man who appears to hold her, and the little people who support her, in contempt.

No real attempt to understand the concept of principles overriding party power, especially when all that power generated was the liberal lite policies which then led to the stunning defeat at the hands of the hard core leftist we now face.

This begs a question I`d love to ask him and all the others who continue to parrot the "We must win at all costs" mantra, a strategy which calls for the "Lesser of two evils", or liberal lite approach.

What has it done to stop, or even roll back the inexorable movement to the left? At a crawl, a jog, or a headlong dash, we still move to the left, by the efforts of BOTH parties. What has all this compromise done to stop that?

Freedom, as our Founders envisioned it, is dying from a chronic case of progressivitis. Does it matter if it`s killed by the RAT`s brand in 4 years or the RINOs in 40?

Many of us say principles do matter, or whats the difference? Rat socialism, RINO socialism, or the Founding Father`s limited federalist democratic republic ,interesting choice. I choose the freedom of the Founders. He seems to advocate more of the same compromise. Didn`t Einstein define insanity as; Doing the same thing over and over while expecting diferent results?

Krauthammer is a pretty good guy, normally. But he acts like a petulant child whenever one from outside the “elite” infringes on the fraternity.
