Bottom line is that they don’t want to be held accountable to a Holy God.
The true Christian man or woman is living out his/her life in obedience to Christ, in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. He or she is living IN this world, but not OF this world. He or she is being sanctified by God in His truth and are sent into the world with His truth—in all aspects of life—but the world doesn’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want to obey the truth, and they can’t even obey the truth unless they come to know the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the way and the truth and the life.
