Shock Audio: Facing Obligations From Leadership, Democrat Congresswoman Leaves Voicemail for Lobbyist Cash
Title shortened.
A couple weeks ago, House Member Eleanor Holmes Norton made a fundraising call to a lobbyist. The lobbyist wasnt available, so Holmes Norton left a voicemail. We have been given a copy of that message. The audio is below.

By way of background, with their prospects for November quickly deteriorating, Congressional Democrats are scrambling to assemble the financial resources they hope can stave off their electoral armageddon. Speaker Pelosi and her leadership team are putting a lot of pressure on Democrat members to pony up campaign contributions to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In the article linked above, Politico noted:
In August, Pelosi and other top leaders wrote members, saying, We need to know your commitment is to maintaining a strong Democratic majority now and pleading with them to call to let us know what you are able to do and when.
The pressure is especially strong on members from safe districts, who need little campaign money of their own to win reelection. The catch, though, is that many of these members havent amassed vast campaign war-chests, for the simple reason that they havent needed them. So, they are scrambling to meet their Pelosi-imposed obligations. Holmes Norton is from one such safe districtthe District of Columbia.
In the following voicemail recording, Holmes Norton seeks a campaign contribution from the lobbyist and even mentions that she hadnt previously asked for a donation. Such is the pressure Speaker Pelosi has placed on the members. But, it is the content of Holmes Nortons message that is interesting. (Note: the first few seconds of the recording, where the name of the lobbyist is said by Holmes Norton, have been redacted by the source.)

That reminds me of a Lie to Me episode I saw this past season involving coverup of a death that was being linked to a politician.
Addison: That man's death was a tragedy.
Cal Lightman: The kind of tragedy that could kill a political career, unless your name is Kennedy of course.
I am more than just a little anxious to hear how Congressperson Norton and her tax payer funded staff are going to handle this one. It could go like this.
1. Her conversation may have been both recorded and obtained illegally. She can have Andrew Breithart's BIG GOVERNMENT website closed down and have him changed with a misdemeanor.
2. She can bring a civil suit against both him and 'BIG GOVERNMENT' for invasion of her privacy.
3. She can play the 'RACE CARD' supported by the likes of the Reverend Al Sharpton. In which case, where is Tawana Brawley when you need her?
4. All of the above and perhaps much more.
It all depends how much spare time she and the other Democrats have on their collective( I always say Collective when dealing with leftists because it is the only way they can act when it comes to pure evil)hands between now and the first Tuesday in November.
Why doesn’t she donate some of that campaign cash to donate to her favorite left-wing schemes, instead of using taxpayer money?
I’m reminded of a skit I saw years ago. The gist of it was if you were in trouble and had a “Kennedy Card”, you walked no matter what.
It is only a crime when republicans do it.
A misdemeanor according to cited law passages in the article.
So, she's caught red handed committing a crime. I wonder how she'll try to wriggle out of this one?
The former won't fly. It's a voice mail message. How can one make a voice mail message and NOT expect it to be recorded? The latter, I don't know. From the way the message is redacted, I suspect that the recipient handed over the recording. Whether that makes Breitbart getting his hands on it legal, I don't know.
“cold cash”
I’m sorry but he is still alive and out of jail during his appeal.
It's called "irony" and there's precious little of it in the world. Enjoy it when you see it.
Unreal.
Move along, nothing to see here...THE RATS will always triumph no matter what they do...example Rangel and Waters! Enuff said! For some reason they remind me of terrorists, holding our country hostage.
I don't think he was in someones office and heard the recording. He may have legally obtained it directly from the person who was on the receiving end. That is legal as far as my limited knowledge of the law is concerned.
Disgusting swamp critters
Doesnt matter whether it’s a felony or misdemeanor. No DC jury would convict her of anything.
